This painting was inspired by the Tuscan landscapes of Forte Dei Marmi, the ever-inspiring photography of Youssef Nabil, and my self-portrait series “Dante’s Dream” shot in the Cayman Islands. This piece encapsulates a sense of peace, isolation, and inevitability. Drifting into the present moment. Embracing a less controlled approach and a duo-chrome color palette, this piece emanates serenity through simplicity.

As part of La Serena Hotel’s dedication to the arts, they offer creatives from around the world the chance to embrace the artistic heritage of Forte dei Marmi through their artist residency programme.
I had the pleasure of being one of the first artists to attend, where I created work from a more spiritual place. Focusing on sketching and painting while embracing a sense of freedom versus control. Balancing between my regular practice and new approaches with intuition as my guide.
